August Rock the Shot Contest, Dance!

Rock the Shot (www.rocktheshotforum.com) is having their August photo challenge and the theme is “Dance”! I personally cannot dance to save my life, but for some reason children tend to be able to. Whether they have the correct rhythm is often debatable, but still cute none the less. When I did photos of Reece for his 2 year birthday, his Grandpa played him a little tune on his phone and he immediately started dancing. It was so cute and when I was editing the images, I just had to make a composite to better show off his motion. So this is the image I am submitting for the contest. There are a lot of beautiful entries and I wish everyone luck.
In the meantime…. Isn’t Reece a super cutie?!? J

Meet Cade, he's a Senior!!

Meet Cade! He’s pretty awesome!

I met Cade and his Mama at a really cool old train depot for the first part of his senior pics. We will be doing more this fall, but for now, here is a small sampling of his pics. Poor guy had started two-a-days for football a day or two before the pics and he was a real trooper even when I asked him to climb, squat, sit, etc…. he was pretty sore.

Enjoy and I will be posting more this fall when we meet again. J

Wouldn't it be cool if this place were restored?! Such a neat old place, so much history! :)

Taylor's Final Year of 4H!

Some of you may remember a senior session I did back in 2012 of an absolutely stunning girl, Taylor. We did a total of three sessions. One in the spring with her horses, another in the summer in a sunflower field and with some cool old buildings, and the last was in the fall at a lake with fabulous fall colors.

Well, Taylor is going into her second year of college now and this summer was her last year showing her horses through 4H at the county fair. Taylor and her Mama asked me to take photos of her last year of showing. I was really excited for the project and Taylor did so incredibly well. Among many of her ribbons and trophies, she was awarded Grand Champion Halter (She has won this 3 years in a row and only one other person in the county has done that) and the Invitational Sweepstakes Show. That gave her the opportunity to show each species in the Sweepstakes Show. This will explain the pics of her showing a hog, goat, lamb, steer, horse, and dairy cow.

The above composite shows 2 of her senior pics from the Spring of 2012 and two of her at the show this summer with the same Buckskin, Pistol. He is now 3 years old and one of the prettiest horses I have ever seen.

 Isn't her gorgeous?!?

This is Taylor's Grandpa! He is so proud of that girl. Taylor's Mama informed me that he has never issued a show and stands like this every time he watches her show. <3

It was a long couple days of shows. :)

Congrats on a awesome final year Miss Taylor! You rocked it!!! :)

William and Ashley got hitched!

At the end of June William and Ashley tied the knot in a beautiful outdoor setting in the country with adorable rustic details. The day started out really warm and the thunder rolled during the ceremony, but we lucked out. The rain shower came after the ceremony while we did some family photos on the covered porch of the building that held the reception. Later we headed back out with the bridal party for some fun group shots with in great post rain light. This group was so much fun to work with and I was really excited to be part of their big day.

I’ve known William and Ashley for a while and it’s been really great to watch all the wonderful things that are happening for them. Ashley found out yesterday she passed her state boards and is officially an RN. 2014 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for Mr. and Mrs. Childers!

Congrats to you both! So proud of you two!! J

One of the 5 little flower girls enjoying the reception! :)

Little jam favors! Cute right!? :)

 Gorgeous dress!

Father of the bride's first look!

One of the funnest groomsmen shots ever! :)

 This one cracks me up!

 First kiss! :)

This was the first wedding I have done where the couple did a "first look". It was so much fun and allowed us to get many of the shots done prior to the ceremony and allowed more fun time at the reception. Plus it made for some super cute shots! :)
