March is almost over and April shower’s are just around the
corner. As much as I like winter, I am ready to see some trees of green and red
roses too. ;)
The folks over at Rock the Shot, www.rocktheshot.com, must feel the same
way or they are excited about St Patrick’s Day, either way, the monthly contest
is “Something Green”.
For my entry, I decided to throw back to a photo I took at
Boone Hill Plantation in March of 2010. Sadly the gardens were not in full
bloom in South Carolina in March, but the trees were awesome and they were the
main reason that I wanted to visit the plantation. According to the tour guide,
these particular oaks only grow in the south (makes this Ohioan sad), it takes
100 years to reach the size they are, and another 100 years to create the canopy.
These trees have survived war and hurricanes. I recommend anyone travelling
through Charleston, SC to consider spending some time at Boone Hill Plantation.
Its beautiful and has a pretty spectacular history.
