Website!

I am so excited to report that my new website is up and running! :) It still needs some work, but all the important info is in place. At this time there isn't a way of ordering items directly from the site, but that is also in the works. :) I would love to get some feedback and opinions on the site.

I am always trying to get new ideas and try new things that will enhance my business. I have started posting images on Pinterest and I am considering opening an Etsy account for the custom items. I am also waiting for my new camera to ship to me and I should have a logo being designed soon! I can't wait for both of these things!

Please keep in mind that on November 12th I am doing 1/2 hour mini family photo sessions at the City of Wilmington Community Room. I am making appointments now, please call, email, text, message on website or facebook, smoke signals, carrier pigeon, etc... to schedule your time slot! :) Its a great way to get family pics without all the hassle. 30 minutes, a standard black backdrop as well as a Christmas setting and your done and you will have the copyright to the images. You will also have the option to buy prints from me or other items like custom photo Christmas Cards. :) Please tell your friends. :)

Thanks for reading my blog and have a fantastic day! :)

Happy Halloween!! :)

In the spirit of halloween, I wanted to show a ghostly image of mine. :) This is my niece, Amelia, October of 2010. This was her first halloween and rocked her Pooh Bear costume trick or treat night! ;) I am hoping to do more of these types of images this season, but haven't yet found the time!
Happy Fall Y'all! :)

Grandpa Pennington!

These photos are of my husbands grandfather! He is 88 years old in these pics! I took them the spring of 2011, right before planting! He is a soybean farmer! My mother had requested a picture with this caption. I was hesitant, because I wasn't sure what kind of pic would work with the caption! My husband asked Grandpa if he would just stand in the field while I took a picture, he said yes, but I didn't get a good shot till I told him I was done and he started looking at the ground and heading back to the barn. I was really happy with the result, my mom got what she wanted, and I think this is one of my husband's favorite pics ever! :)

Family photo sessions!

I am very excited to report that I am hosting my first family photo mini-session day on November 12th at the City of Wilmington Community Room. I am hoping to fill all my time slots and if I get most of Saturday filled, I will book the room for Sunday also!
If you are in the area or know someone who is, spread the love. This is a great way to get family photos before Christmas without all the hassle! 30 minutes and you are done! What could be better? :)

Howdy! I'm Hanna and this is my first blog post ever! :)

Howdy!

My name is Hanna Smithson and Johnson Branch Photography is my freelance photography business! I have to be honest from the get-go! I am not a talented writer and I am not familiar with blogging, but I'm told its fun and a great way to communicate with my friends and customers! :)

I plan to use this as a way of keeping folks up to speed on whats new with me and my business and a way to give everyone little sneak peaks into my world as a photographer! Doesn't that sound like fun?! haha! :)

So, I guess I will start with a little "Hanna insight!"......

I am a photographer (we've covered that) and a 911 emergency dispatcher! One job makes me crazy and the other keeps me sane (you can decide which is which and when you know, let me know) ;)
I married my dear, sweet hubby in May of 2007, he is a police officer and a farmer! If you haven't figured it out already, we are multi taskers! :) We live in the old farm house from his families farm that we did a complete renovation on. We still intend to add on, but I reckon rooms will come when kids do.

I graduated from Wilmington College in December of 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Art with a concentration in Graphic Design. While my degree is graphic design, my goal was always photography. Sadly, that degree field was not offered at my school! I intend to start my Master's Degree in the future...we will see what field that shall be and what school! :)

I have been doing photography since I was a sophmore in high school. As a second grader, I informed my parents I would someday take pictures of the Titanic. By the time I was old enough to do that, it had been done! :( I still maintain I will be published in National Geographic someday! :) I have experience in all different types of photography, and I am always trying to learn or do new things with my work. I hope to someday publish a book of nature/landscape/wildlife photography. Those are the photos I enjoy taking the most.

Well, I reckon that is enough for my first post! I will elaborate on my business in the next post and get some pics posted!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

PS: I tend to overuse smiley's :), but they make me smile, so :)
